Following the success of the 1985 Meat Is Murder tour, The band started planning the release of a live ep featuring this & four other tracks www.youtube.com .. Though the white labels were pressed, The proposed 'Meat is Murder' live ep was shelved .. Track Info Morrissey greets his audience with "Hello, we're the other funny Manchester group!" a candid reference to the supporting act 'James' .. Recorded by 'Auntie' at The Apollo Theater, Oxford 18th March 1985 & broadcasted on The Janice Long radio show 9th May 1985. ~ A Billy MacKenzie Tribute When the world was Brown, Black or Khaki & the raincoat was that years Duffle, Billy MacKenzie was Ultra Violet, Ultra bright but mostly Uncompromising. Morrissey befriended Billy circa 1984 & he is the most likely muse for the above Recording. They met up at Morrisseys Kensington flat in the spring of 1984. The pair apparently spent hours searching for some common ground, But ultimately there wasn't any. Morrissey described Billy as, ' Very erratic, Quite indescribable, He was like a whirlwind. He simply swept into the place & he seemed to be instantly all over the room ! '. William it was Really Nothing probably refers to MacKenzie's 'Theft' of one of Morrisseys treasured James Dean books during that fabled meeting !.
