The Goonies for NES/Famicom was never released in the USA outside of Play-Choice 10 machines, though the sequel, Goonies II, was. The game is similar to The Goonies II, but with a far greater focus on arcade-style action. Commentary: 0:04 - The title screen is interesting. You can clearly make out Sloth, either Andy or Steph, and even Chunk. Who that guy running on the left is, though? No idea. 0:10 - They got the theme song here. Anyways, the idea is to kick mice, get the bombs, and use them to open the safes to get keys to move to the next area. You also need to save a Goonie in each area, or risk having to do the game over again. 0:14 - 8 Diamonds are hidden in each area. I don't get all of them, but I do get most of them. The hidden items in each stage are revealed by standing under them and performing some sort of input...in this stage, it's B. Collecting 8 diamonds refills your life bar. 0:23 - You need 3 keys to open the door. Note that a bomb exploding on Mikey is instant death. Be careful where you drop them. You can carry one bomb at a time. 0:27 - There's also hidden items in the game, which REALLY help. You find them the same way you find the diamonds: stand under them and hit buttons. Each of the items nullifies a certain type of attack. This is the Headphones, which protects Mikey from sound. 0:36 - The Fratelli Brothers will show up to harass you. Jake here has a gun, the other brother, Francis, will "sing" damaging notes at you (hence the headphones). They ...
