In a new city, a familiar face emerges out of the darkness. This short film was created and inspired out of love for Sam Raimi's Darkman. A WORD FROM CHRIS With the hope of reigniting a demand for Darkman, with myself in the director's chair, I created this short film. Shot on a zero dollar budget in just 2 hours, my goal was to demonstrate what I could do with the character. I wanted to show a more realistic Darkman with no whimsical music or operatic undertones. I feel that a modern day Darkman would be more appealing if it were done as straight forward as possible. But I definitely wanted to keep as many signatures as possible, starting with the London fog rain coat, the hat & bandages all the way down to his red shirt. I really wanted him to be as familiar and instantly recognizable. I think for a seven minute movie, I accomplished my goal and with any luck, should something official involving Darkman ever come into development, hopefully this video will serve as convincing cover letter. On that note, Mr. Raimi, if you're watching this video or reading this note- call me.
